The African Foundation for Higher Education
The African Foundation for Higher Education is a philanthropic organization funded by Sterling International Group, Inc. The Foundation's mission is to promote excellence and innovation in education and to improve the academic performance and lifelong productivity of young people in Africa.
It achieves this mission through a combination of strategic partnerships, grants and loans. Funded in 1992, the Foundation has awarded grants to defray educational expenses of Africans admitted to Ivy League business schools.
The Foundation has recently expanded its focus to the promotion of excellence in primary schools in Africa by developing the Early Leadership Program, an endeavor which sponsors elementary and high school students selected on their ability to become tomorrow's leaders and which supports them over and beyond their education by transforming the environment (housing , transport, health etc) in which they live.
